Electronic Security - An Overview

An electronic home security system is an important part of your total home safety program. A burglary occurs approximately every 15 seconds in the United States. More than 65% of those burglaries are residential homes. Less Than 15% of all burglaries are ever solved. Homes without security systems are two to three times more likely to be broken into than those that are protected. In about 30% of all burglaries the criminal was able to gain entry without using force, often through an unlocked door or window. Please continue to exercise all your security practices, even after installing your electronic security system.

The scope of options for your home security runs from the simple siren alarm to systems that allow you to monitor and control your home from your cell phone. One of the advantages of current systems is that the systems are modular and wireless. You can install a basic system today, and easily add to it as the need arises.

The most basic systems have sensors on entry doors, and easily accessible windows. The system activates a shrill siren if any protected point is opened while the system is armed.
